David Kenneth Lewis went to be with his Heavenly Father on July 10, 2015. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 23, 1948 to Bill and Louise Lewis.

David received his Bachelor of Communications and his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. He received his PhD. from Texas Tech University in Family Studies. He lived a wonderful life devoted to 35 years of ministry in many capacities. He started his career as a youth and family minister. He spent 25 years as a beloved professor in the youth and family ministry program at Abilene Christian University, where he co-authored 3 books. He had a passion for teaching and continued to be an adjunct professor at UT Dallas and King’s University at Gateway. David has touched thousands of people throughout his counseling and therapy career, most recently through his ministry as a Life Coach. He was a Christ follower and a friend to all he came in contact with.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pam Lewis, son David “Israel” Lewis and his wife Leslie and grandsons David “Caleb” Lewis and Carter Lewis of Sulphur Springs, Texas; Jeremy Lewis and his wife Randie of Colleyville, Texas; and Christopher Lewis of Denver, Colorado. Brother Bob Lewis and wife Donna; sister Billie Patton and husband Gary and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father, William Lewis and mother, Louise Truell Lewis.
