Nurturing
The mission of the Lake Highlands Christian Child Enrichment Center is to provide to the community of Lake Highlands a place where our children feel unconditional love and acceptance.
Our goal is to prepare each child for success in the classroom, encompassing the full scope of experiences within the educational environment—social, emotional, physical, and academic
Caring
Care begins with safe and clean surroundings. The safety of our children is indispensable. We inspect the faciilities and grounds on a regular basis, to maintain a safe environment and prevent accidents.
We train our staff to be diligent in keeping our children free from unsafe situations. We maintain our high standard of care by keeping our teacher-to-child ratios low. We limit enrollment to 95—our current enrollment is 92.
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services designates the Christian Child Enrichment Center as a Plan 3 Child Care Facility—the highest rating a child-care center can receive in Texas.
We provide full-time care for our children during each week—Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m, except for scheduled holidays.
From three-years old, limited part-time care may be available, with a minimum of three days per week.
Serving
Menu preparation and service follow the dietary guidelines by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, as set forth in Section 746.3301-746.3317 of the Minimum Standard Rules for Child Care Centers for the State of Texas.
Children’s Menu Catering, owned by Rod Pannek, provides nourishing meals for our children. Food is prepared off-site in a commercial kitchen and delivered each morning. Meals are served to toddler age and above in the kitchen.
For children who are enrolled in our local schools and participate in our after-school care, we offer transportation to and from elementary schools in our immediate neighborhood.
We operate a fifteen-passenger van, whose insured drivers have excellent driving records and a patient and loving temperment.
Learning
Learning begins at birth and continues through each age group. We create specific lesson plans for each developmental level, with materials and activities structured to teach core biblical values and enhance each child’s love for the Bible:
- • Respect for God
- • Respect for self
- • Respect for others
- • Honesty
- • Responsibility
- • Kindness
- • Patience
- • Sharing
Our children learn RISD recommended Pre-K skills, in a two-year, rotating curriculum, in age-sensitive classes, from infants through elementary-school ages.
Within the safe and secure environment of the Christian Child Enrichment Center, we prepare each child for public and private schools, through a comprehensive and professionally-guided curriculum.
Believing
We believe that God has given us many blessings and that we have a responsibility to use those blessings. We believe that our greatest blessing is Jesus, who died for all of our sins, so that we all can live in God’s grace.
As believers, we stand in awe the presence of God in our lives and in His creation, the world around us. We celebrate the grace and mercy of God’s love, the amazing truth that Jesus loves me.
But don’t worry… we won’t get preachy or try to set anyone straight—that’s not our job. We believe that the parents are the rightful guides to lead their child in matters of faith. The values that we teach are universal in scope and independent of any exclusive religious tenet.
We respect your rights and responsibilities as parents, both as a matter of principle and biblical precept.
We are partners with you—and we too are parents.
