Merilee Withrow is the happiest when she’s teaching her “sweetie pies”. After 21 years teaching in Early Childhood and Elementary classrooms, she wanted to continue to nurture children and began serving as the Children’s Pastor in 2013. She desires for the hearts of children to be transformed by the love of Jesus. Merilee’s creative teaching style uses drama, puppets, humor, art, music, dancing, and technology to guide children towards experiencing God’s presence and learning His Truths.
In her free time, Merilee loves to stay active by encouraging and supporting others. So you may find her volunteering at a school, helping a family in need, speaking at a luncheon, or creating homemade gifts designed to bless someone. Occasionally she actually sits down and watches a movie IF she doesn’t fall asleep from the inactivity.
Merilee has a B.S. degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Texas in Dallas, with teaching certifications in Early Childhood, Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special Education. In 1982 she married David – her best friend , super handy man, and computer genius! They still go out on weekly dates, need daily doses of chocolate, and love to visit the Dallas Arboretum. They are blessed with two awesome sons, Jairus and Caleb, and a precious daughter-in-love, Jacey.
